Restaurant Impérial in Pointe-Claire offers a straightforward, casual take on Cantonese-style Chinese dining that caters well to both group gatherings and family meals. Located just off the Trans-Canada Highway, the space is large and functional with plenty of parking nearby—though finding a spot can sometimes be a bit of a challenge during busier times. Inside, expect a single, open dining area that fills with ambient noise when crowded, making it less ideal for intimate conversations, but it’s perfect for lively group meals.

The menu highlights a mix of traditional Cantonese dishes and dim sum favorites served fresh and hot. Signature plates like the Imperial Double Boiled Salted Range Chicken and Cantonese-style crispy noodles stand out for those seeking familiar flavors with a bit of refinement. If dim sum is your focus, the restaurant’s offerings range from classic dumplings like Xiaolong Bao to more unique items such as peanut butter dumplings and assorted BBQ platters. The dim sum window from late morning to mid-afternoon brings a bustling mid-day crowd, making it an active spot for weekend brunch or casual lunch outings.

Ordering is streamlined via a QR code system, which helps keep things moving smoothly, though it does mean you’ll need to ask separately for utensils or water. Service tends to be polite but can be a little slow to respond when the restaurant is busy, especially about additional requests like sauces and condiments. For those using the space for special occasions, Restaurant Impérial offers private rooms and even projection equipment, which, along with accommodating staff, makes it a popular choice for local events such as wedding dinners.

Visitors who enjoy generous portion sizes and classic preparations of Cantonese favorites will find this spot satisfying. It’s particularly well-suited for groups looking to share a variety of dishes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, though practical rather than polished, reflecting a focus on food and communal dining over formal experience. Overall, it’s a dependable place to enjoy hearty Chinese meals near Pointe-Claire’s shopping hubs and residential neighborhoods.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The ambiance is warm and inviting, creating a truly enjoyable dining atmosphere. More importantly, the food exceeded expectations. I’ve never been a fan of orange chicken until now. The dish here was a standout, with tender, flavorful chicken and a perfectly balanced sauce. I’ll certainly be returning for another visit.

it is very easy to order! you scan a qrcode to order food, you need to ask verbally for utensils or water. the tea tasted a little fishy for me but thats just my personal opinion. the chow mein was hugeee, not as juicy as i wanted though. it was about 200$ for a group of 14. lots of parking available and it is pretty close to cf pointe claire

Food. Delicious, fresh and hot. Service. Good to average. It’s often hard to get people’s attention especially when you’re trying to get sauces and dips etc. Atmosphere. It’s nice and clean, however, it’s one big space and when busy can be a bit loud and lacking of personal space. This is one of my preferred restaurants to have dim sum, including their south shore location. They use an app ordering method requiring the customer to have a smart device to connect to their wifi and order the dishes one desires. I personally appreciate this as I don’t have to wait for a server unless I have a question about the food. I do love the old school model where people walk around with a trolly filled with foods and you just ask and they place it on your table like I’m china town, but this is so quick and easy and I don’t have to deal with china town traffic or parking. I found everything to be tasty, flavourful, properly filled with good amounts of filling, however, I do think the pricing is a little higher than it should be. I have had their Chinese foods here as well and found the food to also be very delicious but that’s for another review. As usual, I will be coming back for more.

We had our wedding there and we were blown away by the delicious food, and amazing service. I spoke to Mr Lee for all the logistics and he was so friendly and helpful throughout the process. We got the jade menu for our guests and everyone was so happy with the quality and portions for the food. They have room divider if you need your own space, and projector too. There's also a separate room if the bride needs to change or store her stuff. We were so happy with the turnout.

Dim Sum is a great way to catch up with friends. It's a meal that can last a few hours while you eat small bites. Only issue, this place does not serve small bites. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it's good. The only thing is you dont have as much of a selection. We ordered 5 different dishes. 1) #103- Sticky Rice with Chicken, Pork and Shrimp. You get 2 in an order. They are huge and delicious with a hidden surprise in the middle. Would I order it again? Absolutely. 2) #109- BBQ Pork Bao. You get 3 in an order. They too are huge. Light and fluffy with a tiny bit of sweet BBQ pork in the middle. Would I order it again? Probably Not. 3) #120- Shrimp and Scallop Dumplings. Here you get 4 bite size pieces. Stuffed with seafood goodness. Would I order it again? 4) #102- SiuMai. You get 4 huge ones in an order. Loaded with a mix of juicy pork and shrimp with a thin wrapper hugging the filling. Would I order it again? Yes. 5) #301- Rice Pasta Roll with Fried Shrimp. Two cut up rolls were in the ordere. OMG. This was the best dish we ordered. The rice pasta was filled with a tempura type fried shrimp and there were some kind of a deep fried thin thin noodle inside as well and all was covered in a light soya sauce. Would I order it again? 1000% Now for the rest...the decor is simple. Mostly large tables but they do have ones for 2's and 4's. The process is simple. You place your order on the website, the waiter will explain what to do, once you scan the QR code provided with your table number. Then, using g a rolling cart, your foodbis delivered. Not all at the same time, but that's OK. You dont want your food to get cold. Because the restaurant is so large, we were not rushed to vacate our table. We sat and were able to digest. By the way, when you sit down, you are immediately served a big potion delicious tea. Would I go back for Dim Sum? Absolutely. Would I try the traditional Chinese food? Not sure sure
